The provincial government of Negros Occidental is currently expediting the release of vaccination cards with quick response (QR) codes for individuals who are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz says those who want to claim their COVID-19 vaccination card with QR code must coordinate with their local government unit. (Provincial Government of Negros Occidental photo)

According to Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, from the vaccination sites of the local government units (LGUs) they must have a complete list of fully vaccinated individuals which has been signed by a municipal or city health officer and the mayor.

The list will then be forwarded to the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

The PHO would then be responsible for uploading the fully vaccinated person’s information to the province’s Management Information System (MIS). The LGUs will also be able to access the MIS of the person.

Those who want to claim their vaccination card with QR code must coordinate with their LGU.

Diaz also revealed that they are currently studying whether it is possible for vaccinated individuals to get their vaccination cards via email instead.

Once the individual gets his vaccination card with QR code, he or she will finally be able to travel outside and return home without either undergoing RT-PCR test or quarantine.

Based on the latest data released by the provincial government, they have already vaccinated at least 15 percent of the province’s target population which is roughly more than 300,000 Negrenses./DGB, WDJ
