The Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) is supporting the memorandum of agreement (MOA) that will provide social security coverage for job orders (JOs) and contract of service (COS) personnel of the provincial government.

In a statement issued yesterday, PACE President Renelo Lastierre said the MOA between the capitol and the Social Security System (SSS) is “manifestation and clear pro-worker gestures of the provincial government are expressly evidenced by the granting of benefits and protection not only to regular and casual employees but also to job orders and contract of services.”

“These actions are clear and continue policy under the administration of Governor Bong Lacson. The workers are happy working with you for the benefit of the Negrense. PACE would like to extend its gratitude to you and all provincial government officials,” Lastierre said.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan during their regular session on October 5, passed Resolution No. 0822 approving the MOA between the provincial government and SSS.

Employees classified as JOs and COS are not covered by the law creating the Government Service Insurance System (SSS), the resolution said./DGB, WDJ
