High Valued Commercial Crops Farmers Association of Sipalay City, represented by its chairman, Mateo Senerez, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Negros Occidental provincial government led by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for the financial assistance worth P500,000 granted to them as loan from the governor’s personal money.
The loan was granted to the farmer-association with no interest and will be used for the high value crops production and marketing fund.
The governor made a promise to help the farmers of the said association in April this year when he went to Sipalay City for an official trip.
The association has 137 members who come from six barangays of Sipalay.
The MOA signing was held at the Capitol Social Hall last Tuesday in the presence of 6th District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, OIC Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Dina Genzola and April Rose Almonte of LGU Sipalay, among others./WDJ
