Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is now preparing for this year’s All Saints’ and All Souls’ days on November 1 and 2, respectively.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) will base on the guidelines of the local government units (LGUs) on who to allow entry in different cemeteries all over Western Visayas.
In a statement issued by PRO-6, they said the PNP is all set to provide and ensure public safety and security and maintain peace and order during the observance of the said occasions as well as coordinating with the different LGUs and stakeholders.
The deployed PNP personnel together with the force multipliers will be present to secure the visiting public in the cemeteries.
Likewise, the PNP will intensify police presence in crowded and frequented areas such as malls, transport terminals, churches, resorts, and other strategic areas during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ days.
The security coverage includes the enforcement of the prohibited acts or practices in cemeteries such as bringing of firearms, bladed weapons, drinking of alcohol, gambling, loud music, and other forbidden activities/items specified by the respective local ordinances related to the observance of these occasions.
PRO-6 is also appealing to the general public for cooperation and to strictly adhere to the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force and the LGUs for a safe and secure observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ days./DGB, WDJ
