Six persons were arrested after they were caught engaging in an illegal cockfight at Purok Kabukiran, Barangay Tapi in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental around 11:45 a.m. on Monday, October 4.

Kabankalan City police identified the arrested as Noriel Bajon, 63; Roggie Elicana, 28; Benjamin Serrano, 52; Jeren Magahud, 25; Bonifacio Guadalupe, 72; and Amado Quiapo, 39.

Police recovered 13 live and five dead fighting cocks; two steel gaffs with scabbard; and P2,865 cash.

The suspects were detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station, facing illegal gambling charges./WDJ
