Incumbent Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer are due to file their certificates of candidacy (COC) tomorrow at the provincial office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

According to Lacson, he will file his COC along with first district Congressman Gerardo Valmayor, who will also seek re-election.

The filing of COCs have a set time for each district in order to avoid overcrowding and to enforce health protocols.

Because of this, Ferrer, who is from the province’s fifth district is expected to file his own COC at a later time./DGB, WDJ
