Six persons were arrested after they were caught engaging in illegal cockfight around 2:02 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, at Sitio Camangnawan in Barangay Bagonbon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the arrested as Rodolfo Abadilla, Sr., 72; Ryan Cañedo, 25; Francis Fuertes, 29; Larry Villarde, 50; Jose Esogan, 69; and Alexander Jacinto, 50.

San Carlos City police confiscated four live fighting cocks, 11 gaffs, belt bag, and cash amounting to P950.

The suspects were detained at the San Carlos City Police Station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449, or the Cockfighting Law of 1974./WDJ
