The director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is warning the public of a scammer claiming to be him and asking for money.

In a statement made by Police Colonel Romy Palgue yesterday morning, he said that on Saturday an individual from the town of Binalbagan received a phone call claiming to be him and asking for a donation.
Palgue said the incident caught his attention and he immediately ordered an investigation and to track down the person behind the scam.
So as not to be victimized by this act, Palgue also revealed the number used by the scammer: 09065771699.
“We ask for the assistance of the public especially information that would help us identify and apprehend the person who uses the said cell number to stop him from victimizing unwary individuals,” Palgue said.
He further added it is not their doing as they strictly adhere to the Philippine National Police’s “No Take Policy.”/DGB, WDJ
