The provincial government of Negros Occidental has set up a temporary care center at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City.
Provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said the 20×80-foot tent installed in the province’s quarantine facility in Mambukal Resort in the town of Murcia has been transferred to the TLJPH.
Diaz said the tent would be used by individuals waiting to undergo RT-PCR testing at the hospital. The tent can accommodate at least 15 individuals.
He explained the tent would help separate non-COVID and suspected COVID patients, thus preventing exposure.
Previously, the TLJPH also broke ground for the medical facility’s new Center for Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (CEMREID).
The new CEMREID is priced at P100 million and is funded by the provincial government and the Department of Health’s (DOH) Health Facilities Enhancement Program through the Office of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, who also chairs the Senate Health Committee.
The CEMREID will have its own Emergency room, operating room, delivery room and intensive care unit aside from isolation rooms./DGB, WDJ
