The suspect in the stabbing and killing of a barangay tanod and his nine-year-old adopted grandson in Bacolod City’s Barangay Vista Alegre has already surrendered to Police Station 7.

Police said the suspect identified as 26-year-old Kent Agsam, a neighbor of the victims, surrendered on Wednesday afternoon.
When interrogated by police, Agsam claimed that he was under the influence of illegal drugs when he broke inside the house of 73-year-old Aurelio Rull and his grandson.
Agsam claimed that he was able to get inside the victims’ house through the window and once inside he was discovered by Rull.
Due to fear that Rull might suspect him as burglar and shout for his other neighbors for help, Agsam was forced to stab both Rull and his grandson.
He further added that he had no intention to rob the victims as he only wanted to get his drug tooter back.
Previously, one of the victims’ neighbors claimed to the media that Rull’s house was allegedly being used as a drug den.
Meanwhile, following Agsam’s surrender, Barangay Vista Alegre captain Lendy De Leon thanked the suspect’s family for their cooperation in handing him over to police.
De Leon said the family were initially unaware that Agsam was involved and only discovered about it when the suspect finally confessed to committing the crime.
The barangay official added that Agsam is also included in their drugs watchlist.
Agsam is currently detained at the Police Station 7, facing two counts of murder./DGB, WDJ
