Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro Zayco yesterday said since Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is a member of the Nationalist Peoples Coalition (NPC) and Love Negros, they will support him and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer in the upcoming elections.

Zayco said the agreement of both parties to enter into a merger is aimed to prevent political battles at the local level.

The mayor, meanwhile, said he still does not know if anyone is running against him.

“I guess we will know when it is already the filing of the candidacies,” he said.

Zayco also said that his brother, former mayor Isidro Zayco, is still the chairman of NPC in Negros Occidental.

“He will probably still be the one to sign our Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance,” he added./DGB, WDJ
