Eight village chiefs in Bacolod City have been victimized by prank food deliveries on Monday night, August 30.
The eight were identified as barangay captains Glo-Ann Tambasen of Barangay Montevista, Ruben James Miranda of Barangay 35, Rosinie Distrito of Barangay Singcang-Airport, Rodney Carmona of Barangay Sum-ag, Leah Palma of Barangay Punta Taytay, Yolanda-Noble of Barangay Pahanocoy, Lito Abaring od Barangay Bata, and ABC President Lady Gles Gonzales-Pallen of Barangay Taculing.
According to Pallen, she was surprised that a delivery driver from foodpanda arrived at the barangay hall with a food order worth P506 from a popular fast food chain.
At first she thought that she may have forgotten to have placed a food order, however, upon checking her mobile phone, she discovered that she didn’t place any food orders with foodpanda.
The seven other barangay captains also received food orders worth P506 or P524.
Out of sympathy for the delivery drivers, all of the village chiefs have decided to pay them.
Distrito, meanwhile, said upon checking the details of the prank delivery, he discovered that the caller came from an inter number.
He is currently asking the public if there is any way they could pinpoint the caller.
He also decided to pay the delivery driver for the trouble, although he has expressed alarm that other people may be victimized.
All of the barangay captains have already reported the incident to police for investigation, while Pallen called for a meeting with the barangay captains in the city to contemplate on what action they would do next./DGB, WDJ
