Almost all of the inmates at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Bacolod City have already been vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.

BJMP Western Visayas spokesperson, Atty. Jairus Dogelio, confirmed that more than 99 percent of the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Metro Bacolod District Jail have already received their anti-coronavirus jabs.

The remainder of the unvaccinated inmates, meanwhile, are those who have personally chosen not to get the jab.

Dogelio said as of this month, the BJMP in Bacolod City no longer has any active COVID-19 cases among the PDLs in two dormitories located in barangays Taculing and Handumanan.

He added that 346 BJMP officers in Negros Occidental have already received the COVID-19 vaccines./DGB, WDJ
