The provincial government of Negros Occidental has uncovered another fake RT- PCR negative test result which was submitted to them by a returning Negrense.
Provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said the 18-year-old individual who wanted to return home submitted a fake RT-PCR test report and certification.
Diaz said the alleged fake certification came from the Philippine National Red Cross Molecular Laboratory in Mandaluyong City.
He also said that the individual submitted a fake S-PaSS which was not approved.
The returning Negrense allegedly paid P2,000 for the certification.
Charina Magallanes-Tan, executive assistant to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, said they discovered that the RT-PCR test certification was fake after noting that the document that he submitted used a different font than the one used by the Red Cross.
“Upon verification with the Red Cross, it was proven that it was fake,” Tan said.
Lacson, meanwhile, said he leaves it to the Provincial Legal Office on what action to take.
“We consider it a serious offense,” the governor said.
The individual could face charges involving falsification of public documents, as well as violation of Republic Act 11332, otherwise known as the “Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health. Events of Public Health Concern Act.”/DGB, WDJ
