The local government unit (LGU) of La Castellana in Negros Occidental donated a 100-square meter lot and vehicles to the La Castellana Municipal Police Station on Tuesday, August 3.
Police Regional Office (PRO-6) director, Police Brigadier General Rolando F. Miranda, signed the deed of donation in behalf of PRO-6 together with Mayor Rhumyla G. Nicor-Mangilimutan.
The deed of donation was formalized through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 2021-030 dated June 21, 2021, authorizing Nicor-Mangilimutan to donate the property to the police.
The donated lot is for the proposed construction of a new standard police station building while the vehicles which include 4×4 pick-up truck, Bongo Kia utility vehicle, two Honda XR motorcycle, and a Yamaha motorcycle will enhance the “move” capability of the local police force.
In his message, Miranda underscored the importance of the LGU support in law enforcement activities.
“These will strengthen the anti-criminality efforts of La Castellana police station and will greatly help in maintaining peace and order as well as in enforcing the health protocols,” Miranda said.
He also emphasized that the donation of lot and the turnover of vehicles reflect the trust and confidence of the LGU to their police.
“Dito na sasalamin ang tiwala at pagkilala ng mga local leaders kung gaano ka importante ang trabaho ng ating mga kapulisan,” the PRO-6 director added.
He also thanked Mayor Nicor-Mangilimutan and the staff of the local government for their continued support to their local police force./WDJ
