Bago residents receive shelter assistance

A total of P373,000 were distributed to 109 residents of Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, August 3, who are recipients of the provincial government’s emergency shelter assistance program through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

The beneficiaries are those residents whose houses were damaged by strong winds that occur in June this year.

The 23 recipients with totally damaged houses were given P5,000 each while 86 families with partially damaged houses received P3,000 each.

The distribution was facilitated by PSWDO OIC Merle Garcia and staff, and City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Jona Emilia at the barangay’s covered court.

Present in the activity were Bago City councilors Victor Michael Javellana, Andrew Martin Torres, and Ma. Femmy Martir, and other local officials./WDJ
