The Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office (PHO) has temporarily suspended its vaccination operations in Bacolod City for three days so it can correct a backlog in its program.
Provincial health officer, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, said they will look into the actual number of COVID-19 vaccines in its storage.
“It seems the numbers will not tally. We don’t want for people to line up but they can’t be vaccinated as there is no vaccines available at the vaccination center at the Negros First Hostel,” he pointed out.
Tumimbang said that they will revisit the actual number of vaccines the PHO has on its possession and storage as compared to their list.
He said the vaccination program may resume possibly on Thursday, August 5.
After the auditing is finished, it will be reported to the regional office of the Department of Health.
Tumimbang also clarified that the “minor discrepancy in the numbers” is not affecting the number of vaccines being delivered to different local government units in Negros Occidental.
“We should ensure that all those that were listed at the Capitol
