The head of the Negros Occidental Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT) has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, four months after first being infected with the coronavirus.
Dr. Zeaphard Caelian, who is also the head of Provincial Disaster Management Program Division (PDMPD), said he again tested positive for COVID-19 and he is currently in quarantine at the Mambukal Resort in the province’s Murcia town.
According to Caelian, he developed a fever last July 23 and he was subsequently tested on July 26 with the results later coming back positive for the virus.
Unlike in March wherein Caelian was tagged asymptomatic, he said his current condition is symptomatic with fever and cough.
Meanwhile, the PDMPD office was immediately placed on lockdown to give way for the disinfection.
Caelian’s family also underwent RT-PCR testing although their results came back negative./DGB, WDJ
