The local government unit (LGU) of San Carlos City in Negros Occidental will give P60,000 financial aid to the Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. (NODRF) situated in the province’s Victorias City.

San Carlos Anti-Drug Abuse Council Secretariat Ana Liza Macaraya said that this is the first time that the city will donate to support the activity of the said foundation.

She added that one of the best things about the San Carlos City government is that when help is needed, it will automatically provide as long as it is for the betterment of the community.

She pointed out that it is also one way of establishing good relationships between LGUs.

Dr. Ernesto Palanca, Executive Director of NODRF, sent a letter to Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo requesting for financial assistance for the maintenance of the Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Modality of the Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Center as an initiative since the foundation is a non-government organization.

The said foundation focuses on its campaign against illegal drugs and substances abuse and supports the advocacy of the LGU to contain the drug menace in its area of jurisdiction and the province at large./WDJ
