San Carlos City continues badminton clinic

The city of San Carlos in Negros Occidental thru the City Sports Office continued its badminton clinic for the third batch of players on Wednesday, July 14, at the City Sports Park.

At least 50 individuals ages 5 to 14 years old participated in the clinic to hone their skills in the said sport. The program which started last March 17, 2021 runs as early as 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

Badminton head coach Renbert Caesar Gustilo said that he sees so much potential in said age group to improve and that they could be the future of the city in badminton sport. He also hopes to see the city players succeed in the whole Area 1 of Negros Occidental.

Gustilo also encouraged those who wants to play to join the clinic since it is free where participants with potentials could get free rackets, shoes and other necessities for said sport which is fully supported by Mayor Renato Gustilo and Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Lacson.

Jade Jayawon and Ian De Asis serve as assistant coaches together with Gustilo in the said badminton program./WDJ
