An estimated 101,553 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered in the province of Negros Occidental, based on data released by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz.
According to Diaz, as of July 2, 61,558 have been vaccinated with CoronaVac vaccines by Chinese pharmaceutical Sinovac Biotech.
A total of 35,481 individuals, meanwhile, have already received the British-made AstraZeneca vaccines, while 4,514 individuals have received the US-German-made Pfizer BioNTech jabs.
Data also showed that as of July 2, a total of 82,376 individuals have received their first dose, accounting for 4.51 percent of the province’s target of 70 percent of its population, or 1,825,730 individuals, to achieve herd immunity.
Meanwhile, 19,177 individuals or equivalent to 1.05 percent have already received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Further data released by the provincial government also showed that the cities of Escalante, La Carlota and Sagay have achieved 100 percent utilization of the CoronaVac jabs.
They are followed by the local government units of E.B. Magalona which achieved 97 percent utilization, Kabankalan City with 96 percent, Talisay City with 91 percent, and the town of Pulupandan with 75 percent./DGB, WDJ
