The provincial government of Negros Occidental is warning of a possible termination of 23 unaccompanied communal projects located in different towns and cities in the province since 2014 up to the present.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said that the contractors of the said projects funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) may also be blacklisted by the province.
He said they were able to discover the long overdue unaccomplished projects after they received the complaint from DA.
The said projects are located in the towns of Candoni, Don Salvador Benedicto, E.B. Magalona, Isabela, and Toboso, and in the cities of Cadiz, Sagay and San Carlos.
“We will give OPA together with the contractors on or before December 31, 2021 otherwise these contracts will be terminated by the province upon request of the DA. We will return the funds to the DA and all the contractors who failed to accomplish the projects will be blacklisted,” Diaz warned.
There were those that were given since 2014 and 2015, and the most recent was 2017. Progress billing is being applied in the project and upon awarding, the contractors have requested 15 percent mobilization, Diaz said./DGB, WDJ
