Bacolod City Administrator Em Ang said yesterday that the city is expected to receive 5,850 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine soon.
Ang made the statement after meeting with officials from the Department of Health (DOH) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) who came to the city in order to inspect the city’s ultra low freezers (ULFs) and Cold Room facilities.
Ang said the city’s ULFs are capable of storing 40,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines at a temperature of -70 to -80 degrees celsius.
The city also now has 32 freezers capable of maintaining a temperature of -25 to -30 degrees celsius which could be used for storing AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Moderna vaccines.
The ULFs are placed right beside the city’s cold storage facility which also houses the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines./DGB, WDJ
