An alleged drug personality was declared dead-on-the-spot after he was shot by still unidentified gunmen along Sitio Biaren in Kabankalan City’s Barangay Linao early Monday evening, June 14.
Police identified the fatality as 44-year-old Sunny Tapdasan, a resident of the city’s Barangay Tampalon.
Kabankalan City deputy police chief, Police Lt. Jomel Salarda, said Tapdasan’s remains were discovered by the roadside still riding in his motorcycle and with a gunshot wound to the head.
Salarda said they interviewed several residents in the area and it was presumed that Tapdasan was shot while the area was experiencing heavy rains which muffled the sound of the gunshot.
Police recovered two empty .45 caliber cartridges and a deformed .45 caliber slug at the crime scene.
They also recovered several important documents, two plastic sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and cash amounting to P500.
Salarda added Tapdasan has been identified as a street-level drug target for a long time and had been difficult to monitor by police as he repeatedly disappeared from the cops’ “radar” for some time./DGB, WDJ
