Victorias City’s high-value drug target was shot dead late Wednesday night by still unidentified gunmen in front of the barangay hall of Barangay Estefania in Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as Danilo “Sipil” Sangcap, Jr., a resident of Barangay 7 Poblacion in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Police Station 4 investigation revealed that the victim had just dismounted his motorcycle when four gunmen in a sport utility vehicle stopped in front of him and opened fire.

Sangcap was instantly killed in the attack, while gunmen sped away in their vehicle heading south towards the barangay’s Gonzaga Street.

Police Lt. Colonel Eduardo Corpuz, Victorias City police chief, said Sangcap is on the city’s drugs watchlist and his name had repeatedly popped up on the other drug suspects they have arrested.

Corpuz said Sangcap is known to have traveled to Bacolod City in order to get his supply of illegal drugs.

Police are still investigating the incident./DGB, WDJ
