Bacolod City Administrator Em Ang said the mass vaccination in the city’s barangays will resume today after receiving 17,000 additional doses of Chinese firm Sinovac biotech’s CoronaVac vaccines.
Ang, who is also the executive director of the city’s Emergency Operations Center and coordinator of the COVID-19 Vaccination Council, oversaw the mass vaccination held at the SMX Convention Center at SM City yesterday morning.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia also paid a visit at the SMX Convention Center and at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central yesterday to check the vaccination flow in the two inoculation sites.
Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., officer-in-charge of the City Health Office, meanwhile, said the 17,000 Sinovac doses they received will be used for the inoculation of 8,500 new vaccinees for both first and second doses.
As of June 8, a total of 39,232 doses of CoronaVac and AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government were administered to Bacolod residents./DGB, WDJ
