San Carlos drug den dismantled; 9 caught

Joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and San Carlos City Police Station  dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested nine persons at San Juan Tunga, Barangay 5 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental around 11:41 a.m. on Sunday, June 6.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Baybayan, OIC of the San Carlos City Police Station, identified the suspects as 30-year-old Dominio Navales, a resident of the city’s Barangay 6 and a street level drug suspect; Encarnacion Siaboc, 25, of Burgos Street, Barangay 6; Leslie Luague, 48, of Barangay Rizal; Joel Canaman, 44, of Barangay Palampas; Perlyn Mahinay, 29, of Barangay 5; Dari Jayn Navarro, 34, of Barangay 2; and Juanito Manate, Jr., 26, Bonifacio Jamili, 49, and Anome Egonia, 40, all of Barangay 5.

Baybayan said Navales initially sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500.

Police confiscated a total of four small and three big heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 15 grams and valued at P102,000; other drug paraphernalia; a cellular phone; and P200 cash.

The suspects were detained at the San Carlos City Police Station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them./WDJ
