Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz yesterday said that 23,400 doses of Chinese firm Sinovac biotech’s CoronaVac vaccines will arrive today at the Bacolod-Silay Airport.
Diaz said 7,000 of the doses will be delivered to Bacolod City, while 16,400 doses will be given to Negros Occidental.
On Saturday, June 5, Bacolod had also received 10,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines.
“It means that in only a matter of few days, our city will receive a total of 17,000 doses which is a big boost to our aggressive vaccination program,” Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said yesterday.
Leonardia also thanked vaccine czar, Secretary Carlito Galvez, and Department of Health Region 6 director Emilia Monicimpo for keeping Bacolod in the priority list of the national government vaccination plan.
“Our local vaccination teams will continuously inoculate our people at the fastest possible time. We salute our men and women who have been tirelessly doing this noble job of vaccinating Bacolodnons in our desire to achieve herd immunity as soon a spossible,” the mayor added./WDJ
