Two men killed by ‘riding-in- tandem,’ 2-year-old child escapes

Two men were killed while one of the victim’s two-year-old child managed to escape unharmed after riding-in-tandem suspects opened fire at their vehicle along Purok Lampirong, part of Bredco port in Bacolod City’s Barangay 2 on Tuesday night, June 1.

Police identified the two fatalities as 41-year-old Dexter Bryan Ursos, a resident of the city’s Barangay 4, and Fernando Mahipos, a resident of Purok Boulevard in the city’s Barangay 13.

A third victim, the two-year-old daughter of Mahipos, escaped unharmed.

Based on a statement given by a roving guard from the Bredco port, they immediately responded to the area after hearing several gunshots.

Once they arrived in the area they found Ursos and Mahipos dead, while the girl was found in the passenger seat.

Police Station 2 investigators recovered eight empty fire cartridges of unknown caliber at the crime scene along with a deformed slug, a metal fragment, one sachet of suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

Cops also recovered the victims’ personal belongings including several ATM cards and their Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback car.

Police are still investigating the incident, while the younger Mahipos was later turned over to her grandmother./DGB, WDJ
