Two men were killed when the motorcycle they were riding crashed against a Fuso truck at Hacienda Amora Vieta, Barangay Antipolo in Negros Occidental’s Pontevedra town yesterday morning.

Pontevedra police said 43-year-old Rene Montaño and 35-year-old Omar Domingo, residents of the town’s Buenavista Rizal, were rushed to the town’s Rural Health Unit where the attending physician later pronounced them dead.

Police identified the truck driver as 29-year-old Leomar Alvarez of Puro Narra, Barangay Malingin in Bago City.

Pontevedra police investigation showed that while traveling westward, the motorcycle driven by Montaño suddenly swerved into the opposite lane. The truck then hit the motorcycle.

Alvarez was detained at the Pontevedra Police Station, facing charges./WDJ
