A man was arrested for illegally possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition inside his house in Barangay San Antonio, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo around 8:00 a.m. yesterday.

Through the strength of a search warrant, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives seized a .45 caliber pistol with 17 bullets and a 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition inside the house of Jupiter John Lascano.

The suspect failed to show pertinent documents for the firearms and bullets.

Facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, Lascano was detained in the lockup cell of Barotac Viejo Police Station./WDJ
