The towns of Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) and Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental are currently the two local government units in the province that have the lowest number of active COVID-19 cases.
Based on the data released by the Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT) as of Wednesday, May 26, Don Salvador Benedicto and Moises Padilla currently have only three active COVID-19 cases each.
Aside from the two municipalities, the towns of Candoni and Cauayan also posted low numbers with the former posting 10 and the latter with eight.
As for the most number of active cases, Talisay City is currently on top of the list with 111 active cases, followed by Himamaylan City with 108 and Silay City with 106.
The number of active cases in San Carlos City, meanwhile, which for weeks had been on top of the PIMT’s list with the most active cases in the province, has already significantly dropped down to 93 active cases.
In all, Negros Occidental has 1,323 active COVID-19 cases with a total of 14,565 cases, 12,916 recoveries and 326 deaths./DGB, WDJ
