The number of Iloilo City hall employees who tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, is now at 74.
Based on the data of the City Epidemiological and Surveillance Unit (CESU), 11 employees tested positive during the first day of the mass testing of the city hall work force on May 24. Their test results were released the next day.
On the second day, additional 34 COVID-positive employees added to the figure.
Prior to the mass testing, there were already 26 city hall employees who got infected with the virus which prompted Mayor Jerry P. Treñas to conduct decontamination, thus giving way to the mass testing of all city hall employees.
Meanwhile, as of Wednesday, May 26, a total of 897 city hall employees yielded negative RT-PCR test results.
The mass testing involving city hall employees is still ongoing as of this writing.
