A 36-year-old man charged with illegal gambling was arrested around 5:51 p.m. on Monday, May 24, in his house in Purok Binangcaan, Barangay Daga in Negros Occidental’s Cadiz City.

Officers of the Cadiz City Police Station caught Rex Panolin through the strength of an arrest warrant in relation to his charge for violation of Republic Act 9287 or an act that increased the penalties for illegal numbers games, amending certain provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1602.

The said arrest warrant was issued by Judge Gwendolyn Jimenea of the Regional Trial Court –Branch 60 in Cadiz City dated April 26, 2021.

Panolin was detained in the lockup cell of the Cadiz City Police Station.

The court recommended a P80,000 for his temporary liberty./WDJ
