Bucks maul Heat, takes 2-0 edge in NBA playoffs

Milwaukee Bucks manhandled Miami Heat, 132-98, in Game 2 of their 2020-2021 NBA Season Eastern Conference first round playoffs on Monday night (Tuesday in the Philippines) at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 31 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, while Bryn Forbes drained six triples and finished with 22 markers for the Bucks.

Khris Middleton chipped in 17 markers, Pat Connaughton and Bobby Portis had 15 and 11, respectively, while Jrue Holiday added 15 assists, 11 points and seven rebounds for Milwaukee.

The lopsided victory was far cry from the Bucks’ 109-107 Game 1 overtime win over the weekend as they took a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Bucks set the tone early in Game 2 with a 19-4 start behind baskets from Antetokounmpo, Donte DiVincenzo and Middleton. It grew further to 46-20 after the opening period with three-point hits from Forbes.

The Heat showed some life early in the second period as they trimmed the deficit to 20 points but three-point hits by Forbes and conversions from Middleton and Antetokounmpo gave the Bucks a 78-51 halftime edge.

Milwaukee went on with its offensive rampage in the second half with Antetokounmpo, Portis and Holiday anchoring the offense for its largest lead of 125-89 after a Jordan Nwora triple.

Dewayne Dedmon top-scored with 19 points to go along with nine rebounds, while Goran Dragić and Bam Adebayo added 18 and 15 markers for the Heat.
