Those who got their first dose of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at Bacolod City Government Center may receive their second dose at the SMX Convention Center in SM City Bacolod, according to City health officer Dr. Edwin Miraflor.
“Second-dose vaccinees whose first doses were administered at BCGC may avail [of the second dose] at SMX,” Miraflor said on Friday.
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Task Force and the COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC) – both chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia – held their free vaccination drive at SM City starting May 3 and later at SMX Convention Center, located in the same mall.
Starting today, the EOC and CovaC will administer the second jabs at SMX Convention until Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will continue every weekdays.
Those who want to get the second dose are advised to bring their vaccination cards.
The venue is one of the City’s vaccination centers accommodating the remaining frontline healthcare workers (A1), and adults with comorbidities (A3).
Another vaccination site is at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central Mall.
“With a more stable supply, we intend to put these vaccines into people’s arms as quickly as we can, so we can reach herd immunity status – sooner rather than later – and re-boost our local economy which has suffered in this pandemic,” Leonardia said.
If more vaccines will arrive, the City is ready to open more vaccination centers, he added./WDJ
