According to Dr. Julius Drilon, CLMMRH medical center chief, they have recently observed an increasing rate in detecting COVID-19 cases in the local population.

Drilon said the range of positivity is currently at 32. 7 percent to 42.2 percent.

With this, the hospital had been accepting COVID-19 patients increasingly over the past few days that have an impact on the hospital’s bed capacity, human resources for health, and its services.

“The hospital’s dedicated hospital beds for COVID-19 regular patients are nearing its full capacity of 93 percent,” said Drilon.

He further stressed that six out of seven dedicated intensive care unit beds for COVID patients were already occupied.

“Hence, CLMMRH will be limiting its admission to COVID-19 patients when it reaches full capacity in all dedicated COVID-19 beds and all potential patients may consider to avail the services of other hospitals in the province,” he added.

Furthermore, CLMMRH will also observe the stricter implementation of the existing hospital policies and protocols to ensure adherence and compliance of all stakeholders.

Drilon urged the public to observe strict precautionary measures to prevent acquiring COVID-19 infection to protect colleagues, friends, and family./DGB, WDJ
