A security guard of the Iloilo Fish Port Complex survived an assassination attempt by riding-in-tandem gunmen in Barangay Buray, Oton, Iloilo on Monday night.

The 55-year-old Erwin Jordan, a resident of Barangay Bakhaw in Iloilo City’s Mandurriao district, sustained gunshot wound on his left shoulder. He was confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center.

Oton Police Station’s Corporal Raymund Dollete said Jordan is among the persons of interest in the murder of fish port complex sanitation and health officer Glen Peremne last month.

Oton police’s initial investigation revealed that Jordan was driving his car on his way home when he was shot at around 6:15 p.m.

“The driver was able to drive his car despite his wound and sought help from the Oton Bureau of Fire Protection (BJMP) office,” Dollete said.

Meanwhile, police said the two suspects who were wearing black jacket with face masks and helmet fled towards the town of Tigbauan./WDJ
