Four carabaos died after being struck by lightning over the weekend at Purok Kalubihan, Barangay Bacong in Negros Occidental’s Bago City.

In an interview over Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, Carlo Dellosa, a resident in the area, said their family owns the four carabaos.

Dellosa said the animals were standing at the bamboo plants around noon time when they suddenly experienced a downpour.

He then heard the loud lightning strike and when he went out to check, the four animals were already lying lifeless on the ground.

He noted that the carabaos all suffered burns in different parts of their body.

Dellosa said the family is lamenting the loss of the four carabaos as they are being used as work animals in their farm./DGB, WDJ
