A 28-year-old construction worker died after a motorcycle and a van collided on Sunday night in Barangay Balabago, Jaro, Iloilo City.

Joseph Santillan of Barangay Dungon C in the city’s Mandurriao district sustained head and body injuries. He died while being treated at the West Visayas State University Medical Center, police said.

Police reports showed that Santillan was driving his motorcycle on his way home from work when the accident took place at around 7:00 p.m.

Based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the victim was driving fast. He overtook another motorcycle and collided with a van running the opposite direction driven by Joel Deroa, 30, of Bo. Obrero, Lapuz district./WDJ
