The hospital chief of the provincial government-run Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) said there were no shortcuts in the vaccination of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and several other officials against COVID-19.

Dr. Mary Ann Maestral, TLJPH chief, said they have to follow the correct process of vaccinating the local officials such as monitoring their vitals before and after receiving their jab.
Even the governor was no exception to the rule, and his observation time after receiving was prolonged.
Lacson, along with several provincial board members, mayors, capitol officials, and senior citizens were vaccinated last Friday. The all received CoronaVac vaccines made by China’s Sinovac Biotech.
After receiving the vaccine, Lacson said he had not felt adverse side effects.
“No one was allowed a shortcut; we underwent interviews and our blood pressures were taken,” Lacson said.
He was also told by the medical staff that he may feel sleepy after a while, but noted that it is normal and should not be a cause for concern./DGB, WDJ
