GSW snaps skid, wallops Houston

Golden State Warriors (GSW) used a huge third quarter surge to turn back Houston Rockets, 113-87, in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Saturday night (Sunday in the Philippines) at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Stephen Curry tallied 30 points, including seven three-point conversions, while Andrew Wiggins added 20 markers as the Warriors halted its two-game slide to improve to 32-32 slate.

Jordan Poole and Mychal Mulder finished with 17 points each, while Draymond Green had 11 rebounds, nine points and eight assists for the injury hit Warriors.

Trailing 53-59 early in the third period, the Warriors leaned on baskets by Wiggins to tie the score at 59-all before Curry unloaded consecutive points to take an 88-67 advantage.

Golden State went on with its run in the fourth period to build its largest lead at 103-76 before preserving the lead with late baskets from Poole and Mulder.

Kevin Porter Jr. and Kenyon Martin Jr. tallied 16 points each, while JaSean Tate added 14 markers for the Rockets, which slumped to 16-48 with the defeat.

Miami Heat (34-30), meanwhile, scored a wire-to-wire 124-107 victory over Cleveland Cavaliers (21-43) to tie Boston Celtics at sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Kendrick Nunn top-scored with 22 points, while Duncan Robinson connected six three-point conversions and finished with 20 markers for the Heat.

In other results, Indiana Pacers (30-33) walloped Oklahoma City Thunder (21-47), 152-95; Charlotte Hornets (31-32) edged Detroit Pistons (19-45), 107-94; and Atlanta Hawks (35-30) defeated Chicago Bulls (26-38), 108-97.
