A man was hacked to death in Barangay Pandanon, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 25.

Jim Pladero, a resident of Purok Paho in the said barangay, died of multiple hack wounds, police said.

Don Salvador Benedicto police, meanwhile, identified the suspect as 28-year-old Roberto Enitiban alias “Boboy,” also of the said village. He surrendered to their barangay officials after the incident.

According to police investigators, the victim was having a drinking spree with the suspect’s father and two brothers when the suspect woke up to eat. He was allegedly punched by the victim, which resulted to a heated argument, police added.

Police said the victim later went home and took a bolo and when he came back, he hacked Eduardo Enitiban, who ran to their house to ask for help.

The suspect then hacked the victim several times.

The suspect was detained at the Don Salvador Benedicto Police Station, awaiting proper disposition./WDJ
