Eight more police officers of Bacolod City Police Office’s (BCPO) Police Station 4 tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, bringing the station’s total number of infections to 13.
Based on information released by the BCPO, the test results of the remaining police officers who underwent swab tests last April 21 were released showing eight new cases.
The swab test was ordered last week as part of the BCPO’s surveillance testing on all of their personnel.
Last week, four Police Station 4 cops which included their commander, Police Major Jun Ray Batadlan, tested positive for COVID-19.
They have since been placed in isolation, while the BCPO sent a temporary augmentation force of 10 police officers to cover for those who were placed on quarantine.
Batadlan’s deputy, Police Lt. Ricky Cayao, temporarily took over as officer-in-charge of the station./DGB, WDJ
