The municipality of Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental is once again hit with coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.
Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo announced over the weekend that eight residents, who are employees and officials of the local government, tested positive for the virus. They are already in quarantine.
Garcia-Yulo stressed that everyone should wear a face mask while in public places and should bring alcohol with them wherever they go as well as render their cooperation in the contact tracing being done by the health department.
The mayor is also advising everyone to stay at home if it is not a necessity to go out.
Based on the cumulative report of the Negros Occidental Provincial Incident Management Team, Moises Padilla has six active COVID-19 cases from March 27, 2020 to April 16, 2021.
It can be recalled that in December of last year, the municipal government also suspended its operation after one of its department heads tested positive for COVID-19, which led to the mandatory swab testing of all employees./WDJ
