In an announcement over at its official website over the weekend, the Iloilo City-based football club confirmed its acquisition of Asare, who will bring with him his experience of playing in Malaysia and Myanmar before.

“I’m so excited to be back playing professionally, where I believe I belong. I’m so thankful to Kaya for the opportunity, and I can’t wait to show my ability and to work to reach the best form of my career,” said Asare.

A talented striker from Accra, Ghana, the 5-foot-10 Asare began to play the sport at the age of four as a goal keeper. But as the year passes, Asare opted to shift to striker position.

The 25-year-old Asare had his first opportunity to play in Southeast Asia in 2016 where he suited up for Yadanarbon FC in Malaysia following his impressive tryout with Zwegabin United FC.

Two years after, Asare signed up with Shan United of Malaysia and has played in the AFC Champions League where he scored a goal against Philippines representative Ceres-Negros FC.

Asare was the fourth new acquisition announced by the Iloilo City-based team after previously signing former Stallion Laguna FC players Fitch Arboleda and Ilonggo Jhan Melliza and Japanese-Korean Ryo Fujii./ASC, WDJ
