Six personnel of the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital (DSBMDH) in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.
Based on a notice to the public signed by DSBMDH Chief of Hospital, Dr. Miguelito Aquino, and approved for release by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, they conducted mandatory reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing for 47 hospital personnel.
Among those who have tested positive for COVID-19 are two nurses, an administrative aide, a utility worker, a cashier, and a coordinator for the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP).
Seventy five other hospital personnel have also been placed on quarantine while awaiting the results of their RT-PCR tests.
Aquino also stated the hospital’s Emergency Room, Administrative Offices, NOCHP office, and Radiologic and Laboratory Department have been closed for disinfection, although they are expected to reopen today.
The hospital, meanwhile, continues to cater rabies vaccination at their Outpatient Department and their pharmacy also continues dispensing medicines./DGB, WDJ
