The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bacolod City will resume the voters’ registration on Tuesday, April 13.
Comelec-Bacolod is currently closed after seven of its employees tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19.
Despite the closure, Comelec officer Kathrina Trinio-Caña said they will continue to operate through a work-from-home scheme.
She added that disinfection is also being done regularly.
On April 13, Caña said they would limit the number of persons to only 30 percent of the office’s capacity.
Meanwhile, Comelec has shortened voter registration hours.
From the 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule every Mondays to Saturdays, election offices in places where the applicants want to vote would only accept applications until 3:00 p.m., Mondays to Thursdays.
The poll body also suspended satellite registration in remote barangays.
Registrants are advised to observe minimum health protocols during their visit to their municipal/city election offices./WDJ
