A six-year-old boy drowned in a river at Sitio Overflow, Barangay Hilamonan in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental around 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 8.

According to Kabankalan City police, the victim – whose name was withheld – was a resident of Sitio Bino in the city’s Barangay Orong.

Without the knowledge of his parents, the boy went swimming into the river with his friends.

Police said the victim was later seen floating in the river. He was rushed to the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital where the attending physician declared him dead-on-arrival./WDJ
