In one year of operations across Western Visayas, various police units of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) were able to confiscate shabu with a combined street value of P109.1 million and arrest 1,996 drug suspects.

PRO-6 data showed that the operations – a total of 1,532 were carried out – were from March 2020 to March 2021. Police also seized P2.7 million worth of marijuana.
Negros Occidental had the most number of drug suspects arrested at 857, Bacolod City Police Office followed with 514 and Iloilo City Police Office with 207.
PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Lieutenant Joem Malong, said the non-stop campaign of the government against illegal drugs had eventually borne fruit.
“We slowly regained the glory and honor of Iloilo City as one of the most peaceful places in the country,” Malong added.
The PRO-6’s recent accomplishment was on March 18 where two kilos of suspected shabu valued at P13.6 million were confiscated from two suspects in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the arrested as 38-year-old Rodney Bidol and 28-year-old Raffy Pradilla, both residents of the province’s Silay City.
The suspects, meanwhile, said they were only ordered to do the transaction, and also confirmed that it was their second time delivering illegal drugs./WDJ
